Birth Consulting

PLEASANTLY PREGNANT

All your concerns addressed and more

Similar to pregnancy consulting, a myriad of questions and concerns happen about the birth process. Consulting with Dr. Kyle can come into play when deciding how you would like to have your birth experience.

For example, would you like to bring your baby into the world in a hospital setting, a birth center, or at home? What would this plan look like to you?
And also like the pregnancy questions, why wasn’t this information being offered during provider appointments? When does labor start? What does it feel like?

If you are welcoming your baby in a hospital setting, what are the options? How long do we stay at home before we leave for the hospital? If we want to avoid certain interventions, what are the pros and cons? Can we decline anything? Should we have a birth plan? What if the plan changes? What about after baby has arrived? Again, so many more unanswered questions.

The birth consulting can be in person or virtual. The goal is to provide comfort and confidence for your birth so you have the most pleasant experience possible.

If you would like to welcome your baby in a birth center environment, there are more unique questions and possibilities as well. For example, does the birth center I want to attend support doula services? What kind of pain relief options do we have? Does the birth center operate with a medical provider or midwife staff? How long can we stay after baby has arrived? If we need to be transferred to a hospital due to an urgent issue, which hospital is that, and what are the protocols once we arrive? These are just some of the basic questions related to birth center options.

If you’d like to have a home birth, what are the available options? How do I find a home birth midwife? What is the scope of practice of the midwife? How do we prepare? What kind of equipment do we need? What will I be feeling in my body and what kinds of signs should I be aware of as labor is progressing? Can I birth in a pool? How is mom and baby taken care of after birth? Do i need to see other providers after baby has arrived? If needed, what would a transfer look like?

Again, these are some of the baseline questions, and elaborating on all of this will help you be prepared, comfortable, and confident in your chosen birth journey.

A wellness plan can be put in place to make sure any and all choices are on the table and you can have the truly Pleasantly Pregnant experience that you and your family deserve.
